Learning to Trust My Instincts a Little More…

Pride Month 2021 is officially here and lately I’ve been leaning into things a little more than when I was living in Toronto. Whether that’s telling the people I love what they mean to me more regularly, or finding the balance between working what seems to be two full time jobs to financially have our kids, I am feeling like my life is evolving more naturally. Like now that I’ve made some big changes and started to believe in myself again, that I can trust my instincts a little more. So I guess this latest partnership and glow up only made sense – plus, I haven’t felt this good in a long time.

In case you haven’t been following along me on social media (if that’s the case, why? Click here) you’ll know that I’m on a journey to feel more beautiful inside and out. And while most of those changes are deeper than skin deep, there is something to be said about the little changes I can make to my appearance that have made me feel more beautiful.

I’ve loved being blonde since I first discovered what that felt like many years ago. But that being said, we all know that the salons and barbershops of the world are still a bit out of reach for us. That doesn’t mean you can’t look and feel your best this Spring / Summer. Take it from me after I had the chance to try Clairol’s Natural Insitncts semi-permanent, ammonia free hair colour. My blond has never felt so golden and I loved the glow up just in time for Pride Month in June.

I was lucky enough to be asked by Clairol to pick a shade from their #NaturalLookingHair line of products and opted for light blonde because I knew that it would compliment my already processed hair from so long ago. There’s something to be said about choosing a more natural look these days and opting for a product that contains No aluminum, no bleach, no parabens, no sulphates and many other things that conventional hair dyes contain. Not to mention that the vegan formula made from 80% naturally derived ingredients and my hair feels so soft now.

Now I know what some of you might be thinking – it’s just hair. But for me it’s not. It’s more than that. It’s the confidence I feel to look in the mirror and see a man I respect and love. That took a long time to get to and it’s something I work on every day. It’s feeling proud of my decisions, no matter how hard they are, because I’m working towards something better for myself. It’s feel sexy, and beautiful, and amazing all wrapped up in one cute blonde man who wants to smile more and inspire more kindness in the world. And for those of you who need a small change to make a big difference, maybe now is the time to try something similar
