Getting My Home Winter Ready

I have this theory that there are 2 kinds of people this holiday season: those that love to go all out and entertain. Have lots of gatherings with loved ones, decorate your home with all things festive, and spend the time leading up to Christmas cooking and baking and spoiling those they love.

Then there’s the people that love the holidays as an excuse to unwind from all the socializing they do in their day to day and love the season as an excuse to have lots of festive candles lit and watch holiday movies amongst comfy blankets and pillows.

Basically the introverts versus the extroverts, and the older I get, I can safely say that there are times in my life where I am both. I love my job and the opportunity it gives me to travel the world and introduce you to amazing brands and people, but I also love some downtime with soft bedding and softer lighting.

Let’s get real, I don’t want to repeat the same scramble of last year trying desperately to figure out what to get and coming up a little short. I tend to sometimes forget a few people on my list when it come to some of my extended family and friends and then I become the fabulous last-minute shopper.  This year when I go out for last-minute gifts (December 23rd or 24th) I know where I’ll be heading. It’s no surprise that Best Buy Canada has a smart last-minute gift guide from wearable tech to rest and relaxation. Check out these 5 items you need to pick up all when there isn’t much time left!

There Is So Much To Smile About

Well, it’s officially December and 2018 is coming to a close in a few short weeks. With the holidays to look forward to, I’ve been giving the year a lot of thought. After a pretty emotional few days remembering my Dad with family – while simultaneously traveling a lot for work – I am sitting down to remember why there is so much to smile about. I think sometimes we all can get stuck in a “good riddance” mentality, but even if the year was a challenging one, I hope that you come to a point before NYE where you realize that every lesson you have been faced with had helped to make you into the person you are today. And sometimes, the best thing you can give the universe on a challenging day is a smile. Continue reading “There Is So Much To Smile About”
