With the province of Ontario on track to safely continue its reopening measures, this summer has become the season of freedom and reconnecting with the things and people I love. From seeing my niece and nephew again for the first time in months IRL, to weekend trips with Julio while we do the long distance “thing”, I’m all about sharing experiences with you all to inspire and make you smile. Having planned out several trips this summer together when we aren’t apart, I wanted to take the time to tell you why you should consider a staycation (for those of you who also call it home) or vacation weekend in Ottawa. The Best Kept Secret REVEALED – How to Enjoy Pride Month in Ottawa

Wait a minute.. didn’t I just write something similar about Toronto? Why yes, I absolutely did and you can click here to read it as well depending on which city you’re celebrating in. Being that I am in between both for work and to spend time with my husband while we do the long distance thing, it only made sense to give Ottawa the attention it so deserves now that I’m back. Not to mention all the excitement that we all so desperately need with patios re-opening and a slow crawl towards the summer months and some sense of freedom. Like That Moment Right Before a Firecracker Goes Off…

The month of May is coming to a close, and with it there seems to be electric energy in the air. With re-opening plans slowly being laid out for all of us anxiously wanting to be done with pandemic restrictions, not to mention with #PrideMonth around the corner, there’s a lot to be happily looking forward to. From upcoming prolonged hugs with my dear friends, to dusting off our wigs and heels, things are about to get a whole lot more fabulous here at the blog and via my social media. Stop Being so Hard on Yourself – It’s Okay to be on Day One Again

On the first full week of living in Ottawa again and adjusting to my latest chapter in my personal and professional life, I found myself being on “Day One” of my physical fitness journey. Yes, again.

At this point in my life I’ve lost touched with the amount of times that this has been the case. But maybe that isn’t the right way to look at it anymore. Maybe, finally, I have come to terms with the fact that “Day One” is a blessing and a way to refocus vs the negative connotation around “reset”. A means of forgiving the past, embracing my humanity, and stop holding on to the idea of it as a failure of no longer being where I thought I should / would be.
