Parents, where has Summer vacation gone? It seems like yesterday that I was picking up my son at school belting out “School’s Out For Summer” while playing my magnificent air guitar and now I’m running around, trying to make sure I find indoor shoes, tennis balls and washable markers for those laundry days.

I’ve decided that camping is the best way for me to prevent burn out and really ground myself after long hours at the studio. Nothing compares to the feeling of fresh air in my lungs, the smell of a campfire, and the stars in the night sky. All you really need is a few changes of clothes, a toiletry bag and a camera for all those perfect memories. Ok truth be told, nothing compares to inhaling 10 s’mores in one sitting. I’ve been trying to keep up with the promise to myself to find adventure and explore as much possible. With only a day or two off, I decided that a little staycation at Elements Luxury Tented Camp near the in Renfrew, Ontario would have the perfect combination of my love for the outdoors and luxury hotel life.

Less Tugging and More Holding
Since Lincoln was born, I’ve always stuck with short hairstyles. It was easier to maintain while nursing, running errands, tummy time and getting that rare 1-hour shower (#momlife) throughout the week. It only took eating several Southern meals and watching 6 seasons of Real Housewives of Atlanta to figure out that I wanted to work towards the iconic top bun.

It’s no secret that I lead an active lifestyle with a sprinkling of junk food and fries. With my routine of hitting up the gym three days of the week, a daily yoga practice, teaching 18 hours a week, running after a 5-year-old, and dancing around my house like Tom Cruise, I want to make sure I can continue with a modified version of my routine when I travel for a yoga conference.
