As someone who LOVES to travel, especially for business as we continue to hire new people around the world, I know how important it is to make the most of every moment I have in any particular destination. I’m sure Catherine would agree as she wrapped up her trip to The Azores & Madeira for us. I try my best to keep up with a busy schedule, but as I get older and come to realize that life will not slow down unless I make it, I am appreciating sleep more than ever. Travel can really take its toll on your body, and since I will not ever stop travelling as someone who wants to see every corner of this beautiful world, I wanted to share some of my best-kept secrets to get the rest I need.
Over the years we’ve had a ton of exciting travel opportunities that we’ve been lucky enough to bring you along with us on. From Los Angeles for 24 hours to see a concert, to 36 hours in Paris most recently. It all sounds really glamorous doesn’t it? The problem is that BTS I am not a good sleeper. I’ve always been one of those people who lays awake at night stressing about deadlines, events, emails I forgot to send, the ones I love, staff… The list goes on. Even stopping to write this post for you while I run around Toronto and the world kept me up at night before I found a few easy ways to get the sleep I need at night.
I know that a lot of you are like me out there. The world is more connected than ever, but that also has a hefty price on our mental state. You’ll read articles about “tips to sleep better” but for the most part it’s common sense things we all know we should and shouldn’t be doing. Regardless if I don’t drink coffee after 3pm, or turn off my phone an hour before going to sleep, I’m just a bad sleeper. And even more so when I travel! So what do I use to keep up with the busy schedule of an entrepreneur (stay tuned for a post about my new beauty regiment to look refreshed along with my new sleep habits)
Vicks® ZzzQuil™ is my secret weapon because not only does it help me fall asleep when my busy life keeps me up, but it allows me to wake up refreshed and ready for anything that a new day holds. Considering how blogging and running a business works, that can be pretty much anything. From a quick trip to Montreal to talk with our accountant, to trips around the world where we bring you BTS on Instagram and Facebook Video, I have to be rested. And it’s thanks to ZzzQuil that I can be.
Looking back on why I never considered the product before, I think it’s because I wasn’t informed. Unlike other sleep or nighttime products, Vicks® ZzzQuil™ doesn’t contain pain relievers in addition to the sleep-aid ingredients. I think for a long time there was a stigma around needing help to fall asleep and people were quick to think that prescription drugs were the only way to get the sleep they needed. I feel much better about using this product while I travel the world and bring you along. Both for my mental and physical well-being.
Considering we have the best mattress, and now an exciting new beauty routine, it only made sense to trust ZzzQuil to help me fall asleep. And that is exactly what I did – I look better. I feel better. And things don’t seem to bother me as much as they used to. Sleep is one piece of the mental health puzzle that I don’t have to stress out about anymore!
