An Exciting New Ride for Thrill Seekers

Thrill seekers unite – Canada’s Wonderland is set to open the world’s longest and fastest dive roller coaster in Spring 2019 and the entire team in Toronto cannot wait! I can remember my first experience at Canada’s Wonderland vividly. We took a field trip in my grade 11 physics class. It was my first time ever visiting the park, and I was both excited and nervous. I didn’t have a lot of roller coaster experiences in the past, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.  The very first ride I ever rode was Thunder Run, and let me tell you, I was terrified. Looking back, it makes me chuckle a little because I’m now the complete opposite, constantly searching for the next hair raising experience.

In April of 2019, Canada’s Wonderland will unveil its newest roller coaster billed as the longest and fastest in the world! Designed by Bolliger & Mabillard, The Yukon Striker will treat thrill seekers to an exhilarating experience. It will feature what’s called a “hold and dive”, wherein riders will be hanging on the edge of their seats on one of the three wide, flourless rains, awaiting the 90-degree, 245-foot drop. Once released, the roller coaster then dives from 0 to 130km/h straight down into an underwater tunnel before propelling riders through four dynamic inversions.

THAT. SOUNDS. AMAZING.

2018 Construction

As one of their biggest investments, The Yukon Striker will be the world’s fastest dive roller coaster reaching speeds of 130km/h (80mph) and will span 3625ft (1105m). Yukon Striker also features a 360 degree loop and 4 inversions which is something that hasn’t seen before on dive roller coasters.

The ridewill last three and a half minutes long and is sure to deliver a truly jaw dropping experience. I can’t begin to tell you how much I am looking forward to this ride! You better believe you will find myself, and the Do The Daniel team screaming at the top of our lungs with our hands waving high in the air while experiencing this thrilling ride!

From Halloween Haunt to Winterfest, family visits or just playing hooky with the #DTDteam in the warmer months, we love Canada’s Wonderland and cannot wait to celebrate all the excitement with them in 2019!
