It’s June, It’s Pride Month and it’s time to share some ways you can support queer designers and brands that are here for the LGBTQ+ community not only during the month of June, but all year long. One of my absolutely favourite people on this planet, and designer extraordinaire, decided to use his brand to give back this month and the world needs to know about it.
It is no shock that my love for Andrew Coimbra is undeniable as a beautiful human being inside and out, but my admiration for his craft and the brand he has built on his own is inspiring to say the least. Not only is the Canadian fashion industry rife with problems in regards to support, affordability, production and more, it’s challenging for Canadian fashion brands to reach the level of success needed to be sustainable. The odds are usually against a designer from our beautiful country who wants to create and share their vision. So what is Andrew offering that he hasn’t before? The chance to give back to the LGBTQ+ community via his brand, his platform and his clothing.
For those of you who are unaware, I encourage you to educate yourself on the work the 519 has done for the LGBTQ+ community as a whole. It is is committed to the health, happiness, and full participation of LGBTQ2S communities. And I have personally used their services from mental health to attending surrogacy seminars with Julio.

I cannot encourage you to remember to support LGBTQ+ people, brands and businesses now more than ever. Our dollars speak volumes both during Pride Month and all month long, so please think before you hit checkout on big names that might just be slapping a rainbow sticker on something to trick you.
