Here’s how I planned the perfect day for the whole family

Over the last decade-ish since living in Toronto, and subsequently Ottawa again, my immediate family has planned a yearly trip to Mont-Tremblant. Almost always in July or August, I was able to attend once or twice at most because I was booked or otherwise busy. This time centered around my brother Alex’s birthday mid August, this year we all started to talk about it VERY early and I committed to not booking anything for those few days so that I could attend the whole thing.

Spending time with niece, nephew, brother, sister-in-law, and #MamaSue has been a necessity in my life this year, and something I really have come to appreciate in an entirely new way. In a fabulous twist, we decided to switch up the destination (see you next year Mont-Tremblant. PS, call me and let’s collab) – and I wanted to share how I planned the PERFECT day for the whole family.

Okay, if you hadn’t guesses it yet, the day is centered around taking my entire family to Canada’s Wonderland because my niece (8) and nephew (5) have never been and I cannot wait to help make this first experience the most memorable. Tio Dan, as they call me, is always done for bright nails, a silly joke, playing Pokemon, a puzzle and a good time. So this is going to be an almost perfect day for me to share with them all.

Not to mention, my brother Alex is just as much a roller coaster fanatic as I am so this is going to be a mixture of everything #CanadasWonderland has to offer us all this summer. Let me tell you more!

Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to join the #WonderCrew – a group of creators and media members who gain access to previews of the park, experiences, and more in order to share our thoughts with our audiences. This year, I attended a very rainy media day in May and I knew exactly what I wanted to do for my brother and my family in August.

Not to mention over the years I’ve gotten to make some of my favourite memories of all at the park in groups both large and small, laughing, enjoying the sun safely, and most of all the energy and experiences that you can only find at the park.

Of course I am slightly biased since I’ve been attending RBC day (which coincidently is Media Preview Day now as well) since Mama Sue got us tickets to visit that day almost every year. We may not have been a D*snéy family every year but this was my version of that so it holds an extremely important part of my heart to this day.

So how do you make this a day for the whole family that will ensure everyone, of all ages, enjoys themselves without breaking the bank you ask? I’m very aware that life is really expensive right now, but I want you to remember that having a day together is sometimes worth spending a little bit of money if you have the means.

This year Canada’s Wonderland is offering the Funday Bundle which admission, all day dining AND parking for one low price per person. That’s exactly what I am looking forward to using for all six or seven of us. Click here for details and to get yours!

The all day dinning is an incredible for the price btw!

We’ve opted to use the above, add Fast Lane Plus to our day to enjoy the coasters we love most without cutting into the time we want to enjoy in Kidzville and Planet Snoopy for the kids.

Did you also know that access to the park includes Splash Works which is a 20-acre water park located on the grounds as well? Being that we are going in August chances are we will definitely taking advantage of that to cool off in the sun!

We will be staying a few days nearby in Blue Mountain and as the day gets closer and closer, I find myself getting more and more excited for us and to share the first time at the park for Tio Dan and the kids.

Did I also mention I’m not 100% sure what the BIG announcement on August 8th is going to be, but I am EXCITED for that too! Makes sure to follow @canadaswonderland if you’re not already for this and all the parks big news.

I’ll be bringing you along with my family on August 16th and I can’t wait to enjoy that time together with you – my #DoTheDaniel family.

I hope if you haven’t been yet that this post inspires you to plan the perfect day with your friends, family, and loved ones at one of my favourite places in the world.

I hope you enjoyed reading and that if you’re not already, follow me on all platforms at @dothedaniel as I share in real time these adventures and more!

Don’t forget to be kind & a little more honest with yourself this year
