A Bit of a Fitness TuneUp

So let’s be honest – I haven’t been sharing a lot of fitness updates online and here on the blog lately. I, like many of you, have found myself falling a bit behind on my promise to be more active. But, that’s okay.

After all, I am human and I can’t be in two places at once. While not here with you, I’ve been working away at a job I love and building towards my goal of children with Julio. That in and of itself is something that deserves to be celebrated! But on the path to being more active again, I thought I’d share a few tips that I’m using in a fitness tuneup of sorts with myself.

So let’s rewind to 2018 and I am in the best shape I have ever been in physically in years. Emotionally and spiritually, I’m a mess, but I am doing my best to keep it together. Looking back I tried to distract myself with physical fitness instead of using it as an outlet. So now, I do just that. Yes I love to go to SPINCO still, but I don’t push myself to go six times a week. I am carving out me time to go enjoy a class when I know it is best for my body, heart, and soul. That is crucial for me moving forward. Balance instead of distraction.

Now that’s all fine and dandy, but if I’m incessantly tired I won’t have the energy to do anything during the day, let alone be more active. SO, no shock to anyone, I am working on having better sleep patterns. Whether it’s introducing natural sleep aids (I recommend Emerald Health) or using sleep spray from This Works (a dream come true. Pardon the pun) I am making a concerted effort to be better and not be so damn tired anymore.

Then it comes to the tools needed to keep myself accountable. Now, I’m not one to go back to weighing my food or abstaining from the things I love anymore. I believe that life is about balance and moderation now. No more crazy fad diets and yo-yo weight loss for me. I want to be healthy and happy in the right ways.

It’s no shock that one item that I use to keep on track daily is my Fitbit. I’ve been a fan for years and have written about the brand numerous times. Earlier this year they launched a set of new products and I’ve added the Versa 2 to my life in a similar TuneUp to my habits above. A more refined version of my Versa for a more refined version of myself.

Without going overboard on specs (you can always check in with your favourite tech blogger, vlogger, instagrammer and the such for that stuff) I’ll give some high level points on the upgrade.

“Versa 2 delivers a new precision-crafted swim-proof design, includes innovative sleep features like Sleep Score and smart wake, and is packed with even more advanced health, fitness and smart features to elevate every moment.1 For next-level convenience, Versa 2 debuts an on-device microphone, which enables Fitbit’s first-ever Amazon Alexa smartwatch experience, along with a Spotify app that allows users to control their music and podcasts, and Fitbit PayTM on all models. 2 Coupled with even faster performance, thousands of apps and clock faces and a brighter, crisper display with an optional always-on mode, Versa 2 is your 24/7 health and wellness companion – now with 6+ days battery life at the same approachable price as Versa. 3 ersa 2 delivers a new precisioncrafted swimproof design, includes innovative sleep features like Sleep Score and smart wake, and is packed with even more advanced health, fitness and smart features to elevate every moment.1 For nextlevel convenience, Versa 2 debuts an on-device microphone, which enables Fitbit’s first-ever Amazon Alexa smartwatch experience, along with a Spotify app that allows users to control their music and podcasts, and Fitbit PayTM on all models. 2 Coupled with even faster performance, thousands of apps and clock faces and a brighter, crisper display with an optional always-on mode, Versa 2 is your 24/7 health and wellness companion – now with 6+ days battery life at the same approachable price as Versa. “

Not convinced yet? You can head to the Versa 2 landing page and check out all the beautiful details to see why yet again, for another year and I’m sure many more to come, Fitbit is helping me stay fit and keep up with my goals one step, day and achievement at a time.
