Ok, so I can clearly remember when I was pregnant, thinking to myself that I would NOT let my child sit in front of the tv… ya.. that didn’t last. I have no shame in admitting that the tv is always on in my house. Sometimes it’s just background noise, and sometimes it’s being stared at intently, like when Big Big Friend, or Mike The Knight is on. I’ve come to love (and loathe, can anyone say Caillou?) some shows, and know that as Lyric gets older, the shows will evolve with him.
Well, it looks like there’s a new show in town… The Day My Butt Went Psycho! The series is set to premiere Thursday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT on Teletoon. The show is targeted to an older child than Lyric, but it looks like something he would LOVE to watch when he gets older! In fact, I showed it to my friend’s 10 year old son, and he thought it was the GREATEST thing! The Day My Butt Went Psycho is based on Scholastic’s best-selling book of the same name, penned by one of Australia’s most popular children’s authors, Andy Griffiths.
The series is an incredible true tale of a boy and his best friend which just happens to be his newly detached butt. Together, Zack and Deuce have their own special knack for wacky adventures and have a blast navigating a world where humans and their butts live side by side, sharing the same movie theatres, squabbling over the same parking spots, and swooning over both celebrities and cele-butt-ies. Most of the butts are up to no good. Our hero, Zack, keeps the world safe from double-cheeked bad guys and dreams of becoming the greatest butt fighter of all time! And, having a genuine butt in your corner can be quite an advantage, especially when it comes to battling the bad butts.
I have no doubt this show will make the 10 year old in all of us giggle and laugh! I mean, who doesn’t think butts are funny?!
Make sure to Tune in to Teletoon on June 12th at 6:30pm for the first ever episode and tweet me to tell me what you and your kids think! Tag @AmandaHayden & @DoTheDaniel on Twitter & Instagram so that we can help share your photos and laugh along with you.
