When it comes to food, there are few things that make me happier than local farmer’s markets in the summer. There is something so romantic about being able to interact with the farmers and their fresh produce. Not to mention that it is so important to me to support local. It’s why when I found out about the newly launched OK Friday Barn Fair that begins this month on Canada’s largest outdoor event venue, Burl’s Creek Event Grounds, I had to let you know that if you need me on Fridays this summer… you’ll know where to find me!
“A collaboration with The Karma Project, the vibrant market space will offer a large range of local farmers and vendors, live music and celebrated eateries. Running every Friday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., the OK Friday Barn Fair will operate from Friday, June 12 to Friday, Oct. 9, excluding July 24 and Aug. 7″
I immediately think about taking Catherine with me on my next visit because this is RIGHT up her alley. She would tell you all about the health benefits of buying local, sustainable and organic produce. Plus it’s going to be a lot of fun!
“Cottage-goers and community members alike will be able to meet face-to-face with artisans, bakers, crafters and farmers offering organic and fair-trade produce, meat, cheese, maple syrup, as well as vegan and gluten-free options.” Nothing sounds more summer
