Food & Wine | Things are about to get hotter with BACARDI Fuego

Rum fans in Canada are about to feel the heat with the upcoming release of BACARDI’s latest product, BACARDI Fuego, hitting store shelves in May 2015. Targeted to those of us who like to live life on the wild side, the rum was actually created to be consumed as a shot. Add a few dashes of Tabasco, and you’ve got the hottest product to hit the Canadian market in a long time (pun intended).

“Taking its name from the Spanish word for ‘fire’, Fuego is crafted with true passion by Maestros de Ron BACARDÍ. It is aged for a minimum of one year in charred oak barrels, shaped using a secret mix of charcoals and blended to deliver plenty of spice and a smooth taste. Added to this rum are a selection of natural flavours and spices that make Fuego a true, spiced rum. The 40% ABV balances the smooth taste of the BACARDÍ rum with the delicious spice notes in Fuego, ensuring each sip is smooth but finishes with a peppery kick.”

Canada’s first red spiced rum & the company’s first rum enjoyed as a shot is sure to heat things up for us all in the coming months. I know that I personally can’t wait to try out the new BACARDI Fuego and add it to the roaster of their delicious products that Julio & I keep stocked in our home.
