Food & Wine | Toronto is spicing it up with Los Colibris

By this point, it has become quite clear that I am a fan of Latino inspired food and restaurants. Throughout my Daniel’s Dish adventures, I have stumbled upon and been introduced to establishments all over the city of Toronto that have stolen my heart.  They say the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach after all. That’s why I am so excited to tell you about The Brand new Polanco-style Los Colibris launching on King Street West in Toronto. Celebrating it’s Grand Opening on Wednesday June 18th, this is definitely one not to miss for all you food lovers out there.

Located at 220 King Street West, this address is already home to Los Colibris’s sister restaurant El Caballito, the Mexican tequila cantina which has been making waves since its opening in 2014.

I recently learnt that Los Colibris means “The Hummingbirds” in Spanish. Add that to the list of words I am slowly learning! This new space aims to be Toronto’s newest hot spot this summer, and from the looks of what they have in store for us all, I don’t doubt for a second that they won’t be almost immediately. With a dinning room designed to seat 150 people, the focus of the space will be “exceptional hospitality, authentic cuisine and inspired design.”  Not to mention the two private dinning rooms that will be available to that special occasion or secluded event for business, each space seats 15-50 people allowing for privacy, discretion and most of all an experience not soon to be forgotten.

Now, this is all getting me pretty excited to head down as soon as possible with seating available today. But add in a shared patio space between the two establishments with a “Make Your Own Taco” Station coming this summer and you can basically guarantee you will find me here on any given night laughing with friends or sipping signature cocktails with Julio.

Intrigued? So am I. Why not head to their social media pages and start to get as excited as I am for this new addition to the every growing Toronto foodie scene. Life is better with Mexican food. It’s just as simple as that.
