Go Ahead and Break The Rules. I dare you.

I’ve never been one to follow trends or fall in line. My mom stills tells the story of me in kindergarten being put in time out to think about what I did. When the teacher turned back around from the chalk board, I was back in circle time. When she asked me why I wasn’t in the corner, I promptly replied “You told me to think about what I did. And I’m done with that now.”

Guess she got a preview of the man I would become one day. Self-assured, but always a little bit of a charismatic rebel. It’s why my fashion choices (albeit usually pre-approved by my fashion blogging husband) have been a way to express myself and break the rules as well. This summer, my must have wardrobe items might just surprise you.

From those infamous studded white boots I am rocking these days when attending events or out on the town, to everyday work clothes that I decide to buy in rose colour vs grey, I am a believer that clothes should be a form of expression. It’s why I’m such a HUGE fan of fashion collaborations over the years for the blog. I’ve accumulated some incredible items, and one that I am most excited about is from the newly launched Levi’s® x Hello Kitty® collaboration. Which is basically cuteness overload with some of my favourite denim – a match made in animated heaven.

Literally everyone I know has at least one pair of Levi’s – you’ll remember that I attended the launch of the new store in CF Toronto Eaton Centre last year and coveted that pride jacket. While I wasn’t able to snag one in time, this year I made sure that I could get my hands on an item from the collection. And rule breaker me, it’s “technically” a women’s jacket. The future of fashion is genderless in my opinion and I love that Levi’s agrees. The entire collection can be worn by anyone, any time in my opinion. Click here to see it for yourself!

I’m lucky enough to now call the Ex-Boyfriend Fringe Trucker Jacket – Who doesn’t love fringe?

The entire collection is playful, urban and approachable. Combining the pop-culture power of #HelloKitty with the iconic prowess of Levi’s? I don’t think there has been a collab this powerful in fashion to date in 2019 in my opinion. But then again, I’m a bit obsessed with limited edition runs of anything!

“Designed with a streetwear aesthetic in mind, the collection features a range of tees, tops, hoodies, and denim, all loaded with art of the wildly popular Japanese character. Some of the key pieces include the Levi’s® Baggy Overalls with an all-over Hello Kitty® print, the oversized Dad Trucker with Hello Kitty® patches, and the Unbasic Hoodie with Hello Kitty® and her pals hanging out on top of the classic Levi’s® Batwing logo.”

It’s one of those collections that is FLYING off the shelves, so don’t miss your chance to get your favourite items before it’s too late. I still regret not getting that pride jacket but the next time something speaks to me like that did and my new jacket does.
