For those of you who know me, there are certain things I am drawn to when it comes to accessories and fashion in my life. One of them of course being my husband to be Julio since he is the main reason why I have rediscovered an appreciation for fashion thanks to FASHIONIGHTS and the amazing life we live. Though the majority of our closet may be his, I in fact own more sunglasses then he does. They have been a staple in my own “fashion” for a very long time and it’s slightly embarrassing to admit how many pairs of designer sunglasses I actually own… But for good reason! I still believe that my bug eyed Dolce & Gabbana’s will come back into style one day. And if not, atleast I have a VERY expensive pair of nostalgia in my collection…
But while I wait for the tides of Fashion to return, lucky for me, I have fallen in love with a new pair of sunglasses. Come and see why Randolph Engineering Sunglasses have become my new favourite pair to wear on sunny days and chilly autumn afternoons. Available here in Toronto at one of our go to’s for all things Fashion, Standard Apparel, these babies are both sexy and sophisticated and a must for my personal wardrobe.
So what is it about Randolph Engineering designs that I love so much you ask? Well it’s their story of passion for what they love alongside a beautiful product that actually caught my attention.
“Randolph Engineering, Inc. was founded in 1972 by Polish immigrants, Jan Waszkiewicz and Stanley Zaleski. They met a decade earlier while working at a small tool & die company in South Boston. In pursuit of the American dream they ventured out to start their own business in Randolph, MA. The two entrepreneurs built tooling, dies and machinery for the then thriving US optical manufacturing industry.
Today Randolph remains an iconic brand accelerated by a growing demand for genuine, well-made products with a strong American heritage. Tried and true manufacturing methods are maintained using the machinery and tooling created by the founders.”
One fun fact that I love is that Randolph Engineering basically started the iconic association of Aviator Glasses in the Army. So remember those Top Gun images of Tom Cruise? If not, please pardon me while I age myself… but it’s that association of an iconic style that truly can be said was greatly aided by this amazing brand built of hard work and vision.
Recently featured on an ABC News “Made In America” segment, take a look at this tried and true brand and their story in the video below.
So, how did this iconic brand and long standing tradition come into my radar you ask?
Well thankfully for me, our friends at Standard Apparel who are the Canadian distributor of Randolph Engineering Sunglasses were able to educated me on the brand. Both the history and style behind Randolph made the decision easy to make them another pair of sunnies that I have added to my collection. Standard Apparel has always been a name that Julio and I associate with cutting edge fashion and brands.
One last fun fact that I love about my new pair of sunglasses? “Each pair of glasses are handled over 200-times from start of production to its completion, and comes with a lifetime warranty on all solder joints. Randolph Engineering, Inc. is still owned and operated by three generations of the Waszkiewicz and Zaleski families along with a highly skilled and dedicated American workforce.” For more information on the company, make sure to click here.
