Making Better Choices

I wanted to write a blog post about 2018 resolutions and how I have made so many of them, but after starting down that path I quickly realized that there was so much more to making better choices that just one decision. Catherine and I are sitting down at the office eating lunch and we were just discussing how decisions in the busy world we live are contingent on so much more these days. Your mental health is also such an important part, not to mention the ability to follow through on promises you make to yourself. So, with all that being said, let me tell you about a decision I made to start towards a healthier me this year.

There is no quick fix to anything in life my friends. BUT there are always great tools available to help you along the way if you do your research. 2017 was a difficult year for me personally because I battled my self-confidence. It’s not something I try to dwell in because it’s a very slippery slope. But when I ended the year feeling not like myself, I knew I could do better. For no one else other than myself. After researching healthier choices in Toronto, I was introduced to Fit Cravings Canada. This is one tool I am using to work towards a healthier me. I am working on my mental health. My emotional well-being. My own sanity in a chaotic industry that can sometimes feel incredibly overwhelming.

So when I landed on their website, and saw the phrase “Have Too Much On Your Plate?” I knew I had found one part of a new me that could bring some stability to my life. I should make this very clear that I am not going to advocate for weight loss, focusing on a number on the scale, or conforming to standard ideals of beauty. What I do advocate for is health. I was that person for too long in my mid twenties and became infatuated with the idea of being “perfect”.

The reason I chose Fit Cravings Canada is because their programs and meal options are an attainable and convenient option in my life. They offer meal options to fit my life and my goals. I just want to feel better about myself and it takes one small step at a time towards big changes. “Healthy” is a unique and very individual term, and one that gets thrown around a lot. It’s okay to be your own version of healthy while making decisions towards small goals. I think ultimately that’s why I wanted to share that it is one portion of the process, and not a quick fix. If I don’t put in the work physically, emotionally and mentally, I can’t expect the results I hoped for.

So let’s talk about how it works. After choosing your meal options, you will get a delivery twice a week. The team at Fit Cravings gives you a fact sheet about what you’re getting for the following few days. The meals are packaged in containers and lids are made from harvested wheat and are fully compostable, natural and unbleached. You can also check out more FAQs by clicking here. From what I have enjoyed so far, I can tell you that I don’t feel I am being deprived of anything I would normally eat. Quite the opposite actually. I feel as though I am getting so much more out of my daily routine, fuelled by food that is tailored to meet my busy routine and ultimate goals. One meal at a time, I am slowly finding my way back to a better me.

We’ve also worked out a discount code for YOU to try for yourself if you live in the Toronto region and are looking to make a change towards a healthier you.

I hope that, if nothing else, I have helped you understand that goals don’t need to be daunting and intimidating. Don’t forget to join in on the social media conversation and let us know what you think of our new goals and choices.
