The Next Step In My Journey

It’s August 2018 and I’m in the best shape I have been in a very long time. There are a lot of factors that play into that of course, but one of them is that I am taking a lot more time to focus on my physical well being. From hikes in the woods, to classes at SPINCO here in Toronto, my hard work is slowly starting to help me feel better about myself. And although it’s been a few months of me putting in the effort to focus on me more, I am proud of every decision I make to be a better me. One of the first events that we were lucky enough to attend that helped kick start my new attitude was with our friends at RYU Apparel – and ever since, I can’t stop wearing their amazing athleisure items to get my sweat on. So today I wanted to take a minute to ask you – what #YourUniverse would look like if you gave yourself more time to focus on what makes you happy? Continue reading “The Next Step In My Journey”

5 Toronto Workouts You Have to Try

It’s March 12th and I am sitting at the office looking at my to do list. It’s a regular feeling for me, being so excited about everything we have on the go. So many trips coming up for a lot of the team. So much content we are building. Just so much of everything coming our way from all directions. I am the kind of person who loves to be busy, but I also allow my personal life to suffer when I do get busy. I can sometimes forget to eat altogether when I get into work mode. I completely abandon my workouts and any idea of taking time for myself. And you know what? It can be a recipe for burnout. So in an attempt to kick start my “me time” regiment, I created a list of five workouts around Toronto that I love that I will be making the time for. Making realistic resolutions & responsible choices

I’ll be honest with you and say that this year, I haven’t been as diligent as I should have been with my health. Like many Canadians, I made myself promises on January first and set goals for myself that may have been slightly too ambitious. As the year comes to an end I am finding myself making realistic resolutions that I will be able to accomplish. First of all, I won’t be so hard on myself for not meeting the previous year’s goals. There is no shame in admitting you couldn’t do something or simply didn’t get the time to.

Moving forward, I will make smarter, more responsible choices on a daily basis instead of trying to think of the entire year at once. And most importantly, I will provide myself the tools I need to achieve these goals. One of my resolutions is to improve my finances so I recently found the best canadian stock market app that will help me learn about investing. If your resolution is about learning a new skill then buy some basic tools to get started. The list goes on. Who said there was no such thing as New Years Gifts? Nobody, that’s who. I’ve got just the gifts you need to reset those goals with me and get back to a healthier you. Continue reading “Making realistic resolutions & responsible choices”

Health & Nutrition | Discovering what CrossFit really is thanks to Reebok Canada

I’ll be really honest and admit that for a very long time, I had a vague idea of what CrossFit was all about. I knew it usually meant that you were extremely fit, but I also thought that it involved ropes and throwing car tires around. Recently the team at Reebok Canada invited me to learn more about CrossFit by having me visit one of their Toronto CrossFit gyms (Reebok CrossFit Firepower located in Milton) and attend the 2016 CrossFit Invitational. After this experience, I feel a renewed sense of physical fitness and have been outfitted with items that I will need to start towards new fitness goals. Crossfit has been amazing and the CrossFit benefits are even better than I imagined. Come and see some of the highlights from the #CrossFitInvitational and how I am going to try and get myself in shape again.  Continue reading “Health & Nutrition | Discovering what CrossFit really is thanks to Reebok Canada”
