The latest campaign we are so excited to tell you about is Axe Canada’s #Selfmaker – all about embracing your strength and forging your own path. Come and check it out with us below!
Sometimes the story of a “selfmaker” isn’t about playing by the rules, it’s about breaking them. I know that personally when I started DoTheDaniel.com, I faced a lot of challenges. In a world where blogs and big egos are everywhere you turn, I had to define myself in a way that made sense for both me AND for you.
The moment I said fuck it to the rules and to the haters, I allowed myself the opportunity to shine. I haven’t looked back since and now we are growing around the world in a way that not a single person can catch up with. I didn’t play the head games or let the opinions of others stop me. I made this the brand it is today and Axe Canada is celebrating that same fire and passion.
With the newly launched www.selfmaker.ca, you can now follow along in similar stories of people and brands that chose to not “go with the flow.” Their drive and ambition to make it on their own, no matter what the cost, allowed them to be an Axe Canada #Selfmaker and I am proud to consider myself among them.
Similar to my story is that of Thugli. A unison of Pat Drastik & Tom Wrecks, two men who chose to forge a path to their dreams and who are now changing the music game together. As you’ll hear in the video below, and something that rings true to me and my experiences of branching out on my own, “it’s making something happen for yourself, and pushing the boundaries of what we even thought we were capable of doing.”
“Working on Bay Street, it didn’t take long for Tomas Romita to realize his true calling was staring him right in the face. Tomas’ passion for custom suits drove him to leave his career in finance to build MADE Clothing Co.” Similarly, I realized that the world of 9-5 didn’t suit my life and wouldn’t complete my dreams of becoming a national brand. When I branched out into the blog world and gave it my all, the doors started to open. It’s all about knowing your passion and chasing it with everything you’ve got. Fuck the rules. “Feel your finest. Make things happen.”
