How To Make The Most of a Weekend in Montréal

As many of you who follow along with us on social media would have seen, Julio and I recently decided to take a weekend away in Montréal along with Canela after a busy start to 2023. Now that we live in Ottawa, it’s so much closer than it was before as a destination and I’ve made the decision that this year we are going to take advantage of that, because we never know where the future will take us. So, in an effort to help inspire a weekend in my home city like no other, no matter where you’re coming from, I thought I’d tell you about one of our absolute favourite hotels and how you can enjoy a much needed getaway as well at Humaniti Hotel Montreal, Autograph Collection – Montreal’s First Smart Vertical Community.

“Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, Humaniti Hotel is perfectly positioned to project unique lifestyles inspired by diverse human interests. Our mission is to make architecture one with the human experience. Live and breathe in a diverse environment that puts you at the foundation of its spectacular design.

The bold, h-shaped, twin-tower architecture reflects the city’s vibrant culture and embodies the infinite power of connection. During clear skies, the towers have the distinctive appearance of communicating with each other.

The original, new concept is Marriott’s first Autograph Collection hotel in Quebec.”

As you all know, I travel a lot for work a lot and when I get the chance, I love to bring my family along. I hope that when we have children, this will of course continue with Canela and kids alike. While I know that not all hotels are equipped for pet travel, when I find properties that are pet friendly, I always want to share them with you all because I know that we aren’t the only ones who prefer to bring them with us over boarding or asking a friend to watch them. So before I did any further research about the hotel and its amenities, that was already a plus in my books!

My immediate response upon walking into the hotel lobby was how spacious, colourful, and of course visually stimulating it was. The use of art, architectural highlights and truly frame the view of the city make you feel like you’re on both an adventure but also coming home to rest. I love the juxtaposition of cool and warm, and the fact that the hotel feels fresh without “trying” to be the cool hotel.

After check-in with a smooth valet experience where you watch your car take a vehicle size elevator down (something I haven’t seen before and I found quite amusing) it was off to our suite to unpack and get ready for a fabulous weekend.

Located on the 16th floor, the Haiku Suite is 718sqft/65sqm of audacious architecture and unique interior design. With a dedicated living space, dinning area and kitchenette, you can enjoy floor-to-ceiling views of Ville-Marie in downtown Montréal.

A king size bed, and a soaker tub that would be mine (if your not aware, I am a HUGE advocate for soaking in the tub when one is present) all allowed for a much needed opportunity to rest and recharge.

Humaniti Hotel Montréal, Autograph Collection, is one of Quebec’s first Marriott Autograph Collection hotels. Ideally located near everything in downtown Montréal, this fabulous lifestyle hotel was conceived with human connections and experiences in mind. Want to see the room for yourself? Check out my REEL by clicking here to fall head over heels in love with the room like we all did.

But we weren’t just there for the room – the amenities of this property were of course a huge draw for us.

SPA HUMANITI

“Spa Humaniti is not only dedicated to the rejuvenation of your body, but your mind and
spirit too. Located on the 9th floor, the 2,000 sq ft urban spa features 4 treatment rooms,
2 pedicure stations, and 2 manicure stations. For discerned guests, spa treatments
incorporate organic aromatherapy products sourced from local ingredients to nourish
their well-being and the earth we share.

Signature treatments include customized facials created by Jennifer Brodeur.
Treatments will feature all-natural, eco-friendly products, and fresh, locally grown herbs,
designed to refresh and rejuvenate both body and soul. The spa also features vegan
nail and pedicure products created by BKIND.”

And I think what I love most of all when looking for a spa in the city I travel to is if the locals of the city enjoy it as well – which from what I’ve read, seen and heard, is absolutely true with many of my friends and family booking treatments for themselves during their work week and weekends. So that’s something to note when visiting the city, even if you’re not staying at the hotel – though, I would of course encourage both.

ROOFTOP POOL (seasonal)

The rooftop pool is destined to be one of Humaniti’s most Instagrammed spaces. Lined
with loungers and luxurious daybeds nearby, the outdoor pool features stunning views
and will be the ultimate spot to refresh on a summer day. The adjacent h3 TERRACE
promises to be the go-to destination for aperitif hour, a restorative coffee break, or a
delicious bite to eat al fresco.

While we weren’t able to experience this for ourselves on this trip, we are already looking to book a summer visit to allow us to sip and chill by one of the hottest spots in Montreal in the warmer months. And a perk of the spa and booking treatments is that it allows you pool access as well again for those not staying at the property.

HYPER GYM

“Humaniti Hotel Montreal is focused on the individual, and one’s aspirations for a
higher-level of wellbeing. Accessible 24 hours a day, the 2-storey Hyper Gym features
ample space for cardio, balanced weights, and a dedicated yoga area. The fitness
center is also outfitted with premium NOHrD wooden fitness equipment.”

I’ve worked out in a lot of fitness rooms, but never a two story luxury hotel one quite like this. While hotel workouts aren’t for everyone (no judgement here), for those of you needing a sweat will be beyond impressed by the facilities like I was while Julio and I Canela relaxed upstairs. It’s called balance!

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention one of my favourite brunches in Montreal that recently launched at h3 which is the properties restaurant and foodie hotspot. I of course had to share all about it here if you’re looking for inspo. Whether you’re looking for a 5-7 to see and be seen, or your new brunch spot with the gurls, the food was amazing and I promise you the above wasn’t all just for me!

Honestly, I don’t often gush about properties and how they make me feel, but I can say with certainty that I’ve found of my favourite hotels in Montreal and Canada in the rooms and with the team at Humaniti Hotel Montreal, Autograph Collection

If you’re looking for a sign that it’s time for a staycation if you live in the city, or a revisit of Montreal in one of the hottest new hotels, take it as this and book an experience like no other today.

And of course, don’t forget to collect those Marriott Bonvoy points during it all!
