Finding The Time For Yourself

For those of you who have come along on our #DoTheDaniel adventures over the last few years, you’ll have seen that I have a newfound appreciate of fitness and finding balance in my day-to-day. The difficult part of that is that “fitness” as a topic hasn’t always felt like the most approachable thing to me. Like many of you, it can be intimidating, and even overly expensive to try and work towards being more physically active and make healthier choices. Recently I found out that Fitbit has launched four new products that are aimed to make your health and fitness goals more accessible, and more importantly, more affordable.

Looking back on photos during my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual transformation over the last twelve months, I quickly came to realize that my Fitbit played a huge role. As you’ll see below, it actually came with me to every workout and destination around the world. It is something that helps to keep me motivated and has become a necessity in my life.

I think that finding the time for myself amid what I can only describe as a roller coaster was probably one of the things that kept me grounded. What I love most about my Fitbit is how easy it was to set up. I’m frantic at the best of times, and some previous wearables took too long to get accustomed to. Not to mention that I felt as though I needed a degree in astro-physics to get them set up.

The user friendly app, the customization, and the comfort all played a pivotal role in my choice to be a Fitbit person. And with the launch of #FitForEverybody and the four new products below, I think that this year is the time for you to consider an upgrade for you and your family.

“Fitbit Versa Lite Edition is the latest addition to the Fitbit Versa family. Versa Lite has all of the core fitness and smart features of Versa like activity, sleep and heart rate tracking, notifications, apps and 4+ day battery life — plus an easy one-button design. Versa Lite is easy-to-use, lightweight, comfortable and comes in new vibrant colors.” This is for the person who wants something a little more expressive on their health and wellness journey.

“Fitbit Inspire HR is an easy-to-use, stylish fitness tracker that helps you build healthy habits with 24/7 heart rate tracking, 15+ goal-based exercise modes, Sleep Stages and up to 5 days of battery life for day-to-night wear – all at an approachable price. With a modern, minimalist, comfortable and swimproof design, plus options to personalize to your own style, Inspire HR offers more features for less and helps motivate you to achieve a healthier lifestyle.”

For the budget conscious Canadian, there is the beautiful “Fitbit Inspire – the most affordable fitness tracker. It has essential health and fitness features including all-day automatic activity, exercise and sleep tracking, goal celebrations, Reminders to Move and up to 5 days of battery life. Inspire is an approachable tool to help keep you motivated while developing healthy habits, with the same elegantly minimal design and style options as Inspire HR.” Both options are fantastic additions to your life if you’re a first or fiftieth time user of Fitbit products. The accessibility of wearable technology of this caliber is what speaks to the fact that this brand understands me and my needs. Whether it’s getting 14K steps running around the city or sitting down to a spinning class.

If I’m being honest, this is the product I am most excited about. In full on baby fever, I have been giving children a lot of thought lately. For good reason, I am being a healthier and happier version of myself so that I live a long life for my future children. When I am lucky enough to have children old enough to come with Daddy on a run or to a fun family workout wherever we are living, Fitbit and their line of children’s products will be a way for us to bond. “Fitbit Ace 2 makes it fun and easy for kids to get active and build healthy habits that last a lifetime. Designed for kids ages 6+, Ace 2 brings a new swimproof design with fun colors and patterns, challenges and kid-friendly features while encouraging more family time through physical activity. Ace 2 has parental controls to help safeguard kids’ privacy. Parents can also review their kids’ activity and sleep habits to encourage healthy behavior changes.”

While I make the decision on which of the above I want to include in my 2019 and my goals going into an exciting new chapter, I encourage you to head to the Fitbit website to see how easy it is to be a part of the #FitForEverybody movement taking place from coast-to-coast.
