Food & Wine | Why we are so excited for Estrella Damm’s #TapasJourney

I think what I love most about Toronto is its passion for food and ultimately creative food experiences. You’ll remember that we recently showcased our love for Estrella Damm and spoke about exciting food pairings that might surprise you. I am excited to say that we have partnered with Estrella Damm again to celebrate the launch of the 2016 Tapas Journey taking place in Toronto! Tonight I will be joined by several friends as we tour three of the participating restaurants that have created unique dishes that embody the energy and passion of Estrella Damm and the food culture that one of the best cities in the world has to offer!

“Tapas are the perfect reason to gather with friends and family toeat, drink, and socialize. Allow us to take you on our Tapas Journey and indulge in this classic and fun Spanish tradition with Estrella Damm, brewed in Barcelona with Mediterranean ingredients since 1876. From August 12th to 21st, the Tapas Journey comes back for its second year and returns bigger than ever with 38 top restaurants across Toronto. At any participating restaurant, ask your waiter for the tapas passport and enjoy three thoughtfully curated tapas with a cold Estrella Damm lager for $20.”

Tonight I will be joined by @Fashionights, @AmaScriver & @Dani_GirlsofTO (follow them all on Instagram if you aren’t already) to tour three of the participating restaurants to taste and share our #TapasJourney experience. If there is one thing that best embodies summer in Toronto, it is of course enjoying a delicious one-of-a-kind meal over a cold Estrella Damm with good company.

So where are we headed?

First off we will start our evening at Pukka to try Chef Denish Butola’s creations. “Pukka is a forward-thinking take on Indian cuisine. Their family style sharing plates take diners on a journey through decadent tastes, and elevate the typical Indian curry into clean, modern bites that enchant the palette.”

Next up on the schedule, we will be headed to Bar Raval to enjoy Chef Grant van Gameren’s take on the #TapasJourney experience. “Bar Raval is a Spanish-influenced small-plate and pintxo parlour. Sherry-based cocktails, meticulously selected beer and wine, a beautiful menu and an intricately designed environment combine to create the perfect recipe for discerning diners.”

Finally, we will end our evening at DaiLo to see what Chef Nick Liu has in store for Toronto food lovers! “The DaiLo team believes that eating well is a fundamental part of living well, and that high-quality ingredients lead to better lives. Their “New Asian Cuisine” is predominantly Chinese, but follows the French tradition. At the heart of the menu is a love and respect for what Chef Nick Liu ate growing up as the son of Hakka parents in Canada, and what his ancestors have been eating for generations. Ancient favourites are augmented by Liu’s signature flair and updated to suit the Western palate as well as the modern demand for local and sustainable ingredients.”
