So let’s be honest with one another, this probably isn’t the summer you had in mind when 2020 started off. While the world is changing before our eyes, I find myself re-evaluating the simple things in life that bring me joy and make me happy. From our new Friday night DIY pizza night, to drive in movies, there are things to look forward to. So, if you had to give it some thought, where will the summer take you?
Oh I do love a good double entendre… ? The rhetorical question above can mean personally, emotionally, mentally, physically, or all of them at once…. and that’s I guess where this blog post comes in. The summer has in the past been an opportunity to travel far and wide and explore the world. 2020 offers perhaps an opportunity to focus on local and Canadian travel in lieu of our current reality.
I am lucky enough to be test driving the 2021 Kia Seltos thanks to Kia Canada. Of course, I opted for the spectacular Starbright Yellow model because it spoke to me and my vibrancy. I’ve never been one to shy away from standing out in a crowd after all. For those car fans out there, you can of course get all those sexy specs on the engine and vehicle here, but some of the reasons I got excited to get behind the wheel include:

So why this car for us? Because as Torontonians, Julio and I need a vehicle that understands our city driving needs. But also one that can hit the road to Ottawa or cottage country this summer and all year long. Less than a day behind the wheel later, this car drives like a dream. With a throw blanket in the backseat and Canela along for the ride, I’m able to run my errands and explore my city and province with a new sense of adventure.
The little things that are helping to make this week, and my summer, more beautiful are as simple as driving to our favourite sushi spot that is outside our local delivery zone. Driving down to the water for a walk with Canela. Taking a day trip to Cobourg to visit Catherine. Or a longer trip to enjoy a visit with my family (albeit socially distant of course) to be in person with them for the first time in months. There is a lot of ways that hitting the road in the right vehicle for you can offer you the opportunity to feel free. Which, let’s be honest, is refreshing.
And I’ll be honest, the #KiaSeltos is also a model with enough space for our car seats when we need it to be in the near future. With enough cool factor that I feel energized to drive it. And with fuel efficiency to allow me to afford it as part of my life and budget. Overall, this vehicle has opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking about car ownership in Toronto.
