It’s been an emotional few weeks. I always get extra nostalgic around the holidays and before the excitement of what the new year holds. Always have, probably always will. Recently I ran into some friends by chance and we sat down to talk about our mutual businesseses and how far we’ve come over the years. Funny thing that I did run into them because had I not missed the streetcar by a moment, it would never have happened before the holidays. Funny how life works out like that sometime…
These friends are actually the faces behind Siempre Tequila. You’ll remember that we’ve shared our love for their tequila over the years. Having recently celebrated their second year of business, I see a lot of myself in their brand. They follow their hearts, they try to be themselves against all odds in an industry which demands conformism, and they would do anything to support those they love.
It ALSO reminded me that over the last two years, and even more so now that I am madly in love with Mexico City and all things Mexico, Julio & I have celebrated New Years eve with some of their tequila. Obviously enjoying some Moet as well, it’s become a tradition of ours and I love that. As they have grown around the world, so have we. There’s something quite special about sharing in that journey together. And when I sip Siempre Tequila, it takes me back to the warm beaches of Playa del Carmen or the streets of Oaxaca.
I wanted to remind you that you don’t only need to celebrate in one way this year. You can do it however you like. With whatever you like. Because this New Year’s Eve is to celebrate everything you’ve accomplish and all that is to come. Always follow your heart. I know that’s what I try to do.
