Food & Wine | Quitters Coffee stole my heart & I know why

It’s a recurring theme for DoTheDaniel.com … Coffee. Without it, I don’t think I would have survived the amount of work it takes to build and maintain the site alongside the #DoTheDaniel ladies. Over the holiday season, while we visited my family in Ottawa, there was 1 place I absolutely had to visit. Quitters Coffee, the latest venture of Canadian songstress turned small business owner, opened its doors in Stittsville, Ontario this year. Family Lifestyle | DISNEY!!!!!

Yes, there are 5 exclamation points following Disney in the title… what can I say, I’m THAT excited! Something is coming to town, and it’s not just Santa… it’s Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival!! Produced by Feld Entertainment, Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival is aiming to be the biggest concert experience to hit live family entertainment, and I get to take Lyric the day after his 4th birthday! EEP! I have a feeling he’s going to go absolutely BANANAS when he sees this! At this point I’ve left it a surprise, but I have a sneaky suspicion he might start wondering when I’m dressed as Woody and he’s dressed as Buzz and we’re leaving the house.. and it’s not Halloween! haha! (and just so you don’t have to simply imagine what that would look like.. here’s a picture haha!)

Family Lifestyle | #EtsyMadeInCanada – Ottawa

I think I’m still feeling a high from the Ottawa event last Saturday! On September 27th, in cities all across Canada, Etsy held a one of a kind event showcasing local talents. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend in Ottawa, which lucky for me happened to be the largest one! With 158 vendors listed to be showcased, I knew I was in for a FUN morning! I wanted to make sure I got there nice and early so that I could see all that the vendors had to offer. When I arrived at 9am, there was ALREADY a line AROUND THE BUILDING! Such an awesome turn out to support our local community and vendors. I walked in and my eyes went EVERYWHERE! I saw sooo much pretty! I knew I wanted to find some especially unique items that I could feature just for you in case you didn’t have a chance to attend! Here, in no particular order, are some of my favourites! I’ve posted about Etsy before and now they’re gearing up to host an event like none other! The first ever Etsy Made In Canada! On Saturday, September 27th, 23 locations across Canada will host a one-day marketplace, bringing together local Etsy sellers and communities in celebration of the country’s maker movement! There will be large markets at MaRS (135 local Etsy sellers) and OCAD in Toronto, and Ottawa is actually hosting the largest of the markets across Canada, featuring 158 local Etsy sellers at Bell Sensplex! Can you say WOW?! What an opportunity to find some completely unique items and, my favourite part, save on the shipping! With 158 local Etsy sellers under one roof, just think of all the fun things you’ll find!
