Each year, we are always excited to support and attend the motionball gala in Toronto. Not only does the event support the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, but it brings together like-minded people who want to make the world a better place with a fabulous night of celebrations. Come and see why we can’t wait for the 17th annual Toronto Gala and why I am excited to send Aram in my place this year for his first time!
You’ll remember that over the years we have helped to share the #NoGoodWay message. One that helps to shine a light on the simple act of using one word and how damaging it can be.
Returning to Liberty Grand on February 2, 2018, this year’s #motionballgala is set to be the best one yet. Every year, Torontonians and those visiting the city to attend get dressed up to show their support of motionball and the work they do, raising over $9-million dollars since starting this incredible event in 2002.
The much-anticipated 17th annual motionball Toronto gala will take place at Liberty Grand (25 British Columbia Rd) on February 2, 2018 and aims to raise $300,000 in one night.
The motionball Toronto gala kicks off at 9:00 pm with a red carpet entrance, followed by 10 live performances, specialty cocktails and a night of interacting with 25 Special Olympic athletes. This dress-to-impress occasion will be one of the organization’s biggest events to date with 2,500 celebrities, young professionals and Special Olympics athletes coming together to support the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.
The 2018 motionball Toronto gala highlights include:
- Complimentary drinks all night and specialty cocktail stations provided by Molson, Barefoot Wines and Campari
Entertainment CityTV’s Devo Brown as host - Ten live entertainment acts including world-renowned electric violinist Dr. Draw
- A heartwarming special performance by a Special Olympics athlete
- A luxurious silent auction with over 100 items and experiences including flights for two to the Azores islands, gift certificates for Toronto’s top restaurants, hotels and fitness establishments.
- A raffle for two flights to any Air Canada destination
- The unique opportunity to meet the incredible Special Olympics athletes that motionball supports
Tickets are $160 and available at www.motionball.com/gala/toronto – they sell out every year and I couldn’t encourage you to get your tickets fast enough to come join in the celebrations with us.
So why am I passing the torch to Aram this year? Because he’s never attended a motionball before. Not to mention I can almost guarantee that he will have a better outfit than I ever could have. Sometimes I laugh when I think about the age difference between the two of us. Not only has he become an amazing member of the #DTDteam, but he has become a friend. When we talked about motionball, and I realized he had never been before, I knew it was more than an event. It was a moment that could help him to see the power of change and all the good that can be accomplished. That may seem silly to you, but it’s something I try to impart on all of our team. That while we have fun, sharing in our adventures with you all, that we can make a change.
