We’ve all got them. Stories from younger years – some of us, yesterday ? – where we bought the cheapest tequila of them all. And holy moly did we regret it the next day after too many shots, salt and limes.
Flash forward to me in 2020 and I can usually be found sipping really lovely tequila at home with Julio while cooking dinner or cuddling after a long day. So I thought after a busy week, it’s the perfect time for me to help you rewrite those tequila stories and memories like I finally did.
For years I have been sharing my love for tequila with you all – it’s no shock that I love to collect beautiful bottles and special ones that I can get my hands on. But I also understand that that isn’t always possible. I get it. I’m not always indulgences and special occasions. I’m saving for a family and put myself on a strict budget too.
Thankfully, if you know where to look, you can rewrite the past with something so much better. Over the years I have told you about tequila brands that I love and have worked with. Herradura Tequila being a staple in our home, I wanted to share a few ways to rewrite your shitty tequila experiences with a proper tequila – especially now that a new product is available!
Asides from sipping it, which is my favourite way to enjoy tequila with a good book in the bath or cuddling up with Julio, there are so many other ways to utilize this incredible product.
From marinades for chicken and vegetables along with aromatic herbs, to infusing it with your favourite flavours to get creative with cocktail recipes, tequila is so much more than you might realize.
My favourite recipe for using tequila would be Fried Tequila Shots (a recipe I found on Delish) where tequila becomes dessert in a playful manner.
So here is what I would recommend for those of you who aren’t convinced. Go out and pick up a bottle of Herradura Silver now that it is available in Canada. Once you’ve sipped it and seen how different a tequila experience can be, venture through their entire portfolio. And if any of you feel so thankful that I’ve helped to rewrite those memories, feel free to send me a bottle of Anejo. Or Ultra if you’re feeling extra nice – I haven’t tried it yet!
I can promise you that the way you see, think of and enjoy tequila will change once you take my advise. It’s time to start seeing the world differently and this is a perfect way to do just that.
