A New Way Of Seeing Things

I woke up this morning and had a bit of an epiphany about my career as a blogger. Over the years, especially as a small business owner, I’ve had to often follow my instincts or guess when it comes to major decisions.

With little to no guidance, and being that I’m an emotional person, in doing so this process led me to make some mistakes. From reactionary tweets (we’ve all been there), to knee jerk reactions to feel as though I’d been wronged, I think we all understand that it is when we make mistakes that we learn the most about ourselves.

But amid the current reality we all live, maybe it’s time to accept that the past is behind us, and it’s time to move forward with a new sense of compassion and understanding. That’s how I’m trying to see the world and be with myself, my family, and the blog.

I don’t think it serves anyone to list off brands that I have had a falling out with or PR professionals that I have butted heads with. The old me might think that was fair, but years later I am ready to accept my role in those situations as well. Moving into 2020 I am now in a place where I want to celebrate content that speaks to me. Capture things the way I want to capture, and share brands that I have loved for years simply because of the love, and not for kick backs and freebies.

I think there is a shift happening in content creation as a whole. Thankfully, I’ve always been a bit of a visionary when it comes to authentic content. I don’t want to sugar coat things or endorse products I don’t believe in. I want you to know that I too make mistakes, struggle with my physical fitness, eat healthy and indulgently at the same time… I’m just a real person at the end of the day. And it’s thanks to people like you reading this that I’ve been able to make a career out of it.

So what does this mean for my direction in 2020? TBH it’s not drastically changing. I’m still very much me. Focusing on my marriage, starting a family, traveling, food and navigating that all right here with you along for the ride.

Whether it’s a delicious bottle of wine (LOTS of fun content coming like this with Julio and friends in Canada) that I’m enjoying digitally with someone I love, or the food I am trying my best and failing at making…. let’s not talk about my failed sourdough starter ? …. I just want to be more of myself than I’ve ever been.

So let’s jump in to some things that I’ve been reading about that I am excited for this year both personally and professionally.

The idea of seeing the world in a bright way has made me understand that 2020 and everything we’ve been through helped me feel like I deserve an upgrade to my mobile device. Throwing it back to 2018 I was lucky enough tto be an ambassador for the brand – those were some amazing times.

As life goes, and like many of you, since I have had several other brands and while they have been fun, last year I bought myself a Huawei P20 Pro all on my own because I have never found a camera this good in a mobile device. I think I realized that if the world is a beautiful place, it’s important for me to capture it in the best way I can. Recently announced, the NEW #HUAWEIMate30Pro has arrived in Canada and coming quick on it’s heels comes the #HuaweiP40Pro is coming.

Including the revolutionary launch of #AppGallery – Your favorite apps matching your own lifestyle and location, enjoy expertly curated selections bringing you the trendiest of apps. It’s been fun to explore!

And of course along with an upgrade will come my desire to keep exploring Canada, with roadtrips in an RV being a private trip for my little family to take hopefully across the country. New wine and food to explore and share!

Please try to remember that today is a new day, and it can be a fresh start to something you are hoping to change in your life. It’s all about taking that first step to change. If there is something in your life that you look back on and don’t feel great about, try to rectify it and move forward with a new energy. I promise it feels amazing and can only help tomorrow be more beautiful.
