The Grey Cup is the most exciting CFL event of the year, and this year we have partnered with Dr. Oetker’s Casa di Mama Pizza to share how “home-gating” with delicious pizza can be just as fun as tail-gating at the game. With the help of Julio & friends, I’ve had a chance to taste test #CasadiMamaPizza all week long and I’m sharing some of my favourites that you simply have to try. We are also hosting an exciting contest for one lucky winner to join us at MAMA’S HOUSE on Sunday November 27th for a special viewing experience of the Grey Cup!
Homemade Pizza Taste, just like Mama used to make. I don’t know about you, but I remember the days when frozen pizza tasted like the cardboard tray it was packaged on. Casa di Mama is completely different and helps to offer Canadians from coast-to-coast the convenience of fresh ingredients and flavours all in the comfort of their own home. You’ll remember iconic commercials such as this one:
With seven delicious pizzas available to try at your local grocery store, the options are limitless for your very own home-gating party. Grab a few different options to ensure that your guests have choices while they cheer on their team during the big game. As the official pizza of the CFL, I am always a fan of quality and taste. As my go-to option for our very own #GreyCup viewing at home, Casa di Mama offers the following options for the big day!
“Authentic Italian Pizzeria style crust topped with a spiced tomato sauce and deli meats including pepperoni, smoked ham and chunks of Italian sausage.” This will keep the boys happy during the game and pairs really well with a cold beer. Add some garlic dipping sauce and you’ve got a delicious way to my heart!
“Pull here: juicy chunks of pulled pork, chipotle-style sauce, diced red peppers and sliced red onions are topped on our latest variety, Casa di Mama Pulled Pork. It’s even better than it sounds. Try it today!” Pulled pork is the perfect mixture of sweet & savoury, so this would just make sense as pizza topping, Pair it with a dry white wine or fruit punch for a perfect way to cheer your team on the 27th!
“Enjoy a classic pepperoni pizza recipe with an authentic homemade pizza taste, just like Mama used to make!” Sometimes you just need a classic pizza to make everyone happy. With the perfect amount pepperoni and a thin crust, this pizza won’t last long during the game. You should probably pick up a few…
“Authentic Italian Pizzeria style crust topped with a spiced tomato sauce and a delicious blend including pepperoni, brightly coloured peppers, red onions and mushrooms.” I personally opt for Deluxe when we have friends over because Julio doesn’t like green peppers and I never get to have them – with friends and family that all can change!
“Authentic Italian Pizzeria style crust topped with a unique sauce, pineapple and ham.” – not my favourite, but someone always asks for it. Funny how that works. It’s why I keep one in the freezer just in case to not be caught off guard. I already picked one up for the big game because I always want my guests to enjoy options and enjoy delicious food in my home.
“Calling all bacon lovers! We’re making your biggest dream come true with our newest variety: Casa di Mama Bacon. Tender stripes of bacon, slices of red onion and green onion and the perfect blend of edam and mozzarella cheese top our signature thin crust with a rising edge.” Is there anything better than bacon? I think not. This has to be my second favourite and I can usually be found enjoying a slice with some hot sauce. Pair it with a Merlot or fruity red wine to help your guests get the full flavour profile.
“It’s finally arrived… Casa di Mama Inferno is the newest spicy frozen pizza available! Topped with mini spicy pepperoni, fiery-hot jalapenos, green peppers and red onions on our signature thin crust with a rising edge, this pizza will satisfy all your spicy cravings. A must-try for every spice-lover!” 100% my favourite Casa di Mama pizza because I LOVE spice – I can actually admit that I enjoy this with Julio on an almost weekly basis because the taste just can’t be beat.
