The month of April is underway and with it (albeit slowly) the warmer weather is coming. In just a few short weeks the doors at Canada’s Wonderland will open and the 2019 season will kick off with some exciting new rides and opportunities to make memories with my family. As I have explained, one of my favourite memories growing up was going to RBC Royal Bank Day at the park – the day before the park opens to the public. For my entire childhood, this was our version of a theme park trip because it was one we could afford. It’s why I am so excited that we are official #WonderCrew members and will be sharing more about the park in 2019.
From the highly anticipated Yukon Striker coaster which I CANNOT WAIT to get on for the first time (click here to read about it in detail) to the fact that I have a craving for a funnel cake that only Canada’s Wonderland can satiate. Not to mention that there is a new initiative launched in partnership with Sick Kids that I am absolutely in love with.
Participants in the fundraiser will receive one entry for every $100 they raise in a contest to win one of 72 seats on the first public ride of Yukon Striker, the world’s longest, tallest and fastest dive roller coaster. The more a participant raises, the more entries they receive and the better their chances of winning. Individuals, groups, school classes and companies are invited to fundraise for a chance at one of those seats, up until Tuesday, April 16 and can start their campaign here.
To help inspire you to help families and the work of Sick Kids as we will over the year, here’s a photo of me in the 90’s rocking the stroller while I made my baby brother stand and walk. Typical eldest child moment at its best – but a wonderful memory nonetheless. And just one memory that I continue to carry with my family as we head into another amazing year making memories together.
