Being a full time University student is difficult. Between living expenses, managing multiple jobs, keeping up with readings, and staying active in the field of media – I often find myself so drained at the end of the day. Having such a busy lifestyle means that I need to maintain the balance of a healthy lifestyle, as well. Because I’m so busy, I have difficulty making time for fitness. So it’s very important to me, that at the very least I can eat healthy, and rest properly.
I lived in residence for my first two years of the student experience, which was great. I loved the idea of being in a community, meeting new people, and being so close to your friends. Sleeping and eating healthy was another story though. Between the uncomfortable mattresses provided and residents having no courtesy to be quiet for one another, it was a couple years of no sleep – to say the least. Additionally, I definitely was not eating the healthiest. The options for food on residence can be pretty limited, and sometimes that “healthier option” really isn’t even all that great for you.
Now being in my third year, I finally have my own apartment, which is a huge stepping stone for me! As the life I choose to live is always busy and essentially never stops, I realized that I needed my own space where I could rest and cook properly – undisturbed and comfortable. Having my own kitchen has been great as I can do my own groceries now and cook whatever I want in my spacious kitchen. I’m also sleeping a lot better, not only because I have my own space with peace and quiet but, resting ever so comfortably thanks to Casper.
Last year, my sleep was a nightmare, but this year I’m living in my dreams. The mattress feels like I’m floating on clouds all thank to the plush top fifth layer, that not even a memory foam mattress has on it. Not only is the mattress amazing, but the sheets are so beyond soft and airy. Living in a basement apartment, I don’t have access to controlling the A/C, and it can sometimes get very warm or cold. Which is why it’s awesome that the sheets provide enough for coverage for when it’s freezing, but are plush and warm enough to protect me from the cold.
Now, when I mention that I’m looking after my health, I don’t just mean by sleeping better. All of Casper’s foams meet strict environmental standards, in order to keep us and the planet safe. Even their latex is Oeko-Tex certified, and the rest of their foams are Certi-Pur certified. That means they’re free of harmful, ozone-depleting chemicals, and low in volatile organic compounds (VOC) emissions. This is a huge win for us all!
Being a college student is very costly, so I’m picky about what I spend my money on. I have to think before I buy costly items, and instead search for value. Thanks to Casper’s 100 night trial, I didn’t have to be concerned about any of that. Whether it be sheets, a mattress, or pillows, Casper allows you a risk-free 100 night trial. They even have free shipping and returns, and if you do return anything, they do their best to donate everything to a local charity.
So if I’m taking a nap in between classes, hitting the hay after a long day of work, or crawling into bed after a night out in the city, I’m able to do anything better than ever with Casper on my side.
A special thank you to Casper for inviting me along to their recent Toronto event and for helping me realize that the best gift I can give myself is a good night’s sleep!
From Toronto with love,
