When it comes to hosting or attending an event, be it a special occasion or a spontaneous get together, no one likes to stress over what to prepare. I don’t know about you, but I am still spinning from a busy holiday season. I was lucky enough to cook dinner, but there were nights with friends where I drew a blank at what I should be preparing. Thankfully, the #PCInsidersCollection from President’s Choice is always a crowd pleaser during the holidays. But did you know that all year long, President’s Choice is launching new menu items for any occasion that will have your guests asking for more? I’m sharing some of my personal favourites for the winter months and how you can create the perfect evening in with friends & family.
For those of you who follow along with us on social media, you’ll know by now that I am a proud member of the #DiscoverPC team in partnership with President’s Choice and it’s family of brands. We were even lucky enough to meet the one and only Sarah Rafferty during a holiday party which was quite the treat! (Pardon the food pun) While I devoured every single #PCInsidersCollection holiday item available, I also came to learn that Sarah loves to cook with her mom for special occasions. I think that like her, I consider cooking and being in the kitchen a form of catharsis. Quality time is always enhanced by quality food, and President’s Choice is always on the lookout for delicious new creations!
With so many more occasions to look forward to, it’s of course a continued tradition of mine to find the latest President’s Choice item I have yet to try. Here are some of my personal favourites that I encourage you to enjoy during the winter months to warm the hearts and bellies of those you love!
Tailgate traditions (click for the full selection of game friendly ideas) is all about enjoying the game, cheering for your team, and eating to your heart’s content. How quintessentially Canadian, if I do say so myself!
PC Too Good To Be Wings Chicken Poutine Boneless Chicken Breast Chunks. Yes, these are just as delicious as they sound and I can assure you that you may want to pick up a few extra packages when you see how quickly it disappears!
Rush-Hour Dinners are items to help you & the family enjoy a meal that is both delicious and won’t take you hours slaving away in the kitchen.
Chicken Vegetable Pot Pie is the perfect meal to warm up when you get home from that long commute. I have fond memories of enjoying a meal just like this when I was a little boy. Hearty, and easy to make, it’s a great option for families who could use more time around the table together.
Healthy traditions are important, including Juices, Smoothies & More!
PC Dark Sweet Cherries, Blueberries and Blackberries Power Fruit Blend is a great way to get the nutritional power of berries into your morning smoothie or a healthier dessert, even in the cold months. I pick up a few packages of the President’s Choice frozen fruit because I understand the necessity of not making the same smoothie every day. Buying fresh fruit in the winter can be expensive, so this is always an affordable option for those of us on a tight grocery budget!
